Just wait, that's all.
That's it? Just wait? Are you kidding? Today when I read the prayer, this is what stuck out to me the most. "Just wait, that's all." Sometimes I get tired of waiting. I have also met a wonderful man that I have been dating for a year and a half. Similar to Ali's situation, we desire to get married one day. But not yet. And there is so much good happening for our relationship right now, so much growing that we can do and fun we can have in this stage of our relationship. It's good to wait. I don't want to overlook the amazing things happening in our life right now as I wish for the future to come quicker. I want to keep my focus on what is good and holy and true. I have been looking forward to this Lent for some time, and I am excited for these days of cleansing and renewing focus. When I read the prayer today, this verse came to mind: "Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord." Psalm 27:14. And while we wait patiently God is calling us to keep listening to and learning from what he is telling us, as the prayer says. So don't just sit and wait, but be active and listen and learn from God which means being in constant dialog with God. I pray that every day I can strive for this more and more.

Amen.
ReplyDeleteAnd also...look up Psalm 37: 7-9.
I like the NIV's wording better, but just take a look at it.
